For Referring Doctors
Working in Partnership With Our Fellow Physicians
We pride ourselves on our excellent relationships with referring physicians. Our findings and recommendations are reported back to you soon after the patient examination. This prompt response ensures an open line of communication so that any important information is incorporated into your patient’s care. That’s because everyone wants the same outcome: a healthy and productive patient. People who are at risk for heart disease include patients with:
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- High cholesterol or triglycerides
- Cigarette smoking habit
- Obesity
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Family history of heart attack
Patient-First Care
When it comes to their concerns, your patient can get prompt answers regarding their health. Additionally, We spend a considerable amount of time with every patient and provides ample opportunity to ask questions. We often encourage patients to bring family members for formal consultations and explanation of test results. Patients are well- educated on how to maintain a healthy heart, preventive strategies and how to slow progression of heart disease.
Improving Lives With a Unique Range of Capabilities
You’ll find that we offer preoperative cardiac risk assessment prior to surgery. By performing a group of tests and discovering health facts, we can determine a patient’s chance of having a coronary event. Results are labeled as slight, moderate or high-risk.
Additionally, we provide in-office nuclear cardiac studies with high sensitivity to determine the presence and severity of coronary disease. Best of all, nuclear studies can determine absence of disease, which can be very reassuring to the patient. Sensitivity with nuclear testing is 90% to 95%. Because Dr. Rana is board-certified in nuclear testing, he provides excellent diagnostic interpretation.
Advanced Testing and Procedures Include:
- Adult Cardiology
- Perfusion scanning with treadmill exercise testing
- Pharmacologic stress testing
- MUGA (multi-gated acquisition) scanning
- First pass study
- Echocardiography
- Treatment of congestive heart failure
- Treatment of hypertension
- Valvular heart disease
- Coronary heart disease
- Pericadium & myocardial diseases
- Holter monitoring
- Chest radiography
- EKG
- Long term cardiac monitoring
- Zio patch
- Carotid duplex scanning
- Abdominal aorta screening
- Peripheral artery disease evaluation
State of the art Echocardiography Equipment
- Holter monitor equipment
- Exercise stress test equipment
- Stress echocardiography
Leading-Edge Diagnostic Equipment
In addition to the high level of experience and communication you receive from Drs. Rana and Attoti, Bronx Heart Medical operates out of a totally modern facility. There you’ll find the GE Millennium MyoSIGHT, a state-of-the-art dual-head nuclear camera for advanced diagnostic imaging of the heart. Its dual-detector, variable-angle geometry gives the doctors the flexibility to perform a variety of cardiac studies.
Best of all, MyoSIGHT technology provides fast, accurate diagnoses with less discomfort for patients. Patients will be on the table only 14 minutes as compared to 28 to 30 minutes with a single-head camera.
Additional technology includes:
- Image Point HX Echocardiography by Phillips
- Delmar Holter system for 24-hour recording of heart rhythm
- Exercise stress test equipment by Marquette
- Stress Echocardiography
